For the guaranteed interview folks; Didn't the job knowledge test portion of the interview get dropped just before covid hit?
If I heard correctly, that move was in and of itself a HUGE break for anyone trying to get to Delta.
For me the big thing is attitude....attitude to learn about Delta, self improve and study for the interview. I saw and dealt with some people on the flow programs of the past, and some were just arrogant for lack of better terms.
Study, prepare, talk about your stumbles in life (we ALL have) and you will highly likely succeed in the interview.
I sincerely wish the best, regional pilots work hard.

It's a genie that was let out a bottle a long time ago. Who has a plan to put the genie back in "cleanly"?
Delta is a separate company with a separate vetting process. Besides some outliers, it's been that way for a long time. Everyone in the industry knows that. Years ago when I started flying I knew there was an interview to get on at the "bigs."
I was excited to come to this pilot group because I think it is different. Attitude and culture. These are very hard to imbue. I've dealt with flows at the AA reigonals...some are cool but some are....how do you say...less motivated than someone with their sights on interviewing at a major?
That said I hope I don't come off as denigrating regional pilots, they are hard working. I would like to see the flying brought back in house in a way that doesn't just snatch the flying back and leave RJ pilots without a job.

Pass rate increased due to points being added to HR. It was broadly equal to OTS when hiring stopped due to covid.

The score to pass the interview is also based on the quality of candidates at point in time of the interview. The adding of points was a huge deal, because over time it would have pushed the DGI percentage up past OTS numbers. The bummer deal there, is that there are some pilots still working at Endeavor that scored higher in the interview process, than some pilots who got the job. Timing is everything in this business.

Of course it’s the same job, but that is not relevant. It should go without saying that it’s not nearly the same interview and vetting process. My experience with our CPZ flows is enough to put me firmly in the no flow camp, but it really doesn’t matter what I think.

I am doing my part to stuff the genie back in. I never mentioned a flow. 1 airline, 1 list. Wildly unpopular I’m sure, but that’s the objective, just like global branding is Delta’s objective. It may not be attainable during my career by I will continue to try. 35 large RJs not being flown by other groups is a start. I’ll take several small victories along the long road if that’s how it has to be done. Fire away!

The company wants something so bad they are willing to entertain “flow” which they haven’t in years. That tells me it’s time to actually negotiate the next contract and stop playing their games. If they want to get the 35 rjs back in the air great. We want things too, so “let’s make a deal.”
