Default 35 Large RJs coming back?

So PB is talking about re-starting a new DCI flow through/flow down again (May3 memo) to get the extra 35 76-seat RJs back. What do you all think of that?

Job protection or another example of whittling away Scope?

DCI already parked 50-60 CRJ200s and all will be gone by end of 2023. Ignoring these 35, this is the smallest DCI has been in well over a decade. With no CRJ900 replacement, the SpaceJet dead, and E-175 eventually on way out (E2 is too heavy for scope) time is on our side to watch it continue to shrink.

Wow that’s quite a sea change from years past. There used to be some very strong anti-flow sentiment on the 4th floor.

I enjoyed how they didn't even touch on how many months they were not compliant with the scope portion they are hoping to restore. I'm sure they want those 35 RJs back as they have already been flying more than was premited... No scope give back!

I saw hiring now includes "community outreach ". What is that?

With all the retirements coming up, I would say the “flow” is only gonna work in one direction.

Sure! As soon as they are in scope compliance, we’ll talk about this.

Or better yet, bring the -900s on property. Boom! Your 35 RJ problem is solved.

I’ll take the ERJ over the 900 personally. Need that UWE time

I’d love to bring all dual class flying to mainline, but I don’t see that happening without big changes to our contract.

It does not sound like there is a “talk about this” but more so a “it’s in the current contract and we plan to use it”

I liked that too. He says they adjusted the large RJ fleet by the contractual amount after the flow-down was no longer available. Left out the part where it took them months and grievances to comply with the contract. Those planes should be left in the desert for spare parts.
