Council 44 Recall

Council 44 Recall
This probably won’t go well, but I’m hoping maybe someone could talk objectively on this.
I’ve been out of the loop for the last year, and I’m not read into ALPA politics...but can someone *objectively* explain the reasoning behind the recall vote?
All I’ve been able to gather on social media is that some are upset that poll results weren’t released? And there seems to be some head-butting between those who supported RS vs JA for MEC Chairman.

Other contributing factors are voting to approve the perceived management-friendly LOAs, voting out the previous MEC for a perceived management-friendly guy, voting against supporting FA unionization, and various other votes where they were either in the minority of LECs or perceived to be voting in the minority of social media popular opinion.

It will definitely pass. I think a lot of people are annoyed with the lack of meetings and their reasoning. The person leading the charge (BB) has no clout but the fact they kept delaying meetings as said above, caused a ton of momentum for this.

I do agree that the lack of meetings is a real problem. But don't think for one second that this is about the "greater good" for C44. This is about a small cadre of already super-senior guys embracing the "got mine, want yours" mindset. If we vote out the current reps, the world will not come to an end, and we will move on with new reps, like we have for many years. But I don't think that anything better will result. Nor do I think that keeping them in office will herald great things either.

It may pass, but I hope a lot of the junior guys are aware that BB, the chief architect and whiner, is actually angry that the junior guys did NOT get furloughed, and in fact is holding up a lack of furlough as a serious benefit that junior guys got at the "expense" of senior guys (and I am one of the modestly senior guys these days, and cannot fathom that kind of thinking).
