The Boom jet has an imaginary engine, it's vaporware. Same as the 797.

Yep, calling something a “Boomjet” when one of the biggest issues with Mach+ speeds is the sonic boom does not seem to be Mad Men level marketing. I personally would have went with “Hushjet.”

speaking of. Something in our contract language about wide body flying with Virgin. We’ll get killed over the Atlantic by Virgin if they get a narrow body jet. It’s a huge loophole in our Scooe language.

Delta is not the only one. AA has 50 of 100 reserve 737 FO in MIA unable to fly. They are waiting to requal. Lots of flights cancelled or reduced schedules. Short of pilots and short of planes. Everyone is hustling. The sims are backed up.

I'm curious about this angle from the conference:

https://www.ajc.com/news/business/af...BJQ7VUFMQUQZY/
Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian said Thursday the company has “delayered” its staff...and plans to keep costs low as travel recovers....As the airline predicts a return to 2019 traffic levels by 2023, “We don’t need to bring back as many of the people”...The early retirements have “given a lot of younger people opportunities to step up. We have a younger team going forward and we’re getting the juniority benefits,” Bastian said.
What is a "juniority benefit"?

Imagine the amazing benefits the airline could achieve if we had a much younger and inexperienced senior management team. :rollseyes.
