Seniority List

I noticed a pilot who was ATLM88B on the Jan 2020 list, removed from the list for 11 months (Feb 2020 through Dec 2020), then back on the list Jan 2021 as NBCPLAB, then SLC320B Feb 2021.

It looks like they might have been out on PLOA?

Is it normal for people on LOAs to come off the seniority list immediately? Why do NBCSIC and NBCMIL stay on the list while NBCPLA do not?

At the risk of sounding stupid....why does it matter and/or why do you care? IOW...if you had that information, what would you use it for? Are you trying to locate someone?

I hate to leave after 30 something years and just now realize I didn’t avail myself of some “critical” info. I’m not being a Richard, just curious.

No worries. I track my seniority and found my number fluctuated and couldn't figure out why. That's when I found this. There could be hundreds of pilots missing from the list. I think it's odd that people disappear and reappear months later. I'm sure it's not nefarious but if something is off then it'd be good to air it out.

Sounds like a job for Scooby Doo and his gang of teenage friends!

An open source seniority list is important for any pilot group. Same as us having the right to see the line awards, daily coverage, reserve lists, etc. We need a transparent system that all can see and verify. Its not about "locating" someone. There is no reason why a PLOA, MLOA, NBCSIC or anything else should ever result in someone being removed from it temporarily.

Seems like a valid question to me. If there are 'hidden' pilots on the seniority list that's not a good thing and we should stop it from happening.

Pilot who was terminated and then reinstated by the arbitrator?

There COULD be hundreds...now I'm curious how many have you seen? A couple(few).... I could maybe understand, but if its hundreds....YES, something is amiss. Could you quantify it please?

How about as an explaination...PLOA is at company discretion and open ended from both sides..therefore they come off list cause they may never return.. A pilot out for medical has a guaranteed sen number for xxx years until he gets his medical back.. A pilot on mil leave has a defined term of absenc by law.....therefore stays on list????

I see/ assume, upon re-reading, that you are tracking BES not system seniority. Initially, I thought you were talking system seniority....which I could never figure out by the 1 number that you appear to be concerned about how you could even notice a disparity.

Gimmevsp has a possible explanation IF you are talking 1 number...not hundreds though if thats what you(others) are insinuating.

BTW...thanks to the posters on bringing me up to speed on an open seniority list:cool:
Let us know if you figure it out

151 PLA's on the July list. That doesn't include the ones missing from the list.
