Soul crushing news this morning. I practiced with Cut-E until I felt ready and then did the assessment. The sudoku section wasn't at all like it was on Cut-E and that was the one section that I struggled with. Everything else I felt I did pretty good on but I got the "6 month reconsideration" email this morning. Kinda bummed, I've been waiting a long time for this opportunity.

Sorry to hear, Delta does reward perseverance. Good luck next time around. Hardest part is settling the nerves. Treat it like you fly, find your pacing and keep it.

Sorry to hear that. It sounds as though Cut-e has a few and potentially significant blind spots. Can anyone chime in on the accuracy of the RST cog?

For those that Delta is your primary target (or prefer DL over AA), back in August 2021, the DL skills assessment was the same as the AA pilot skills test. Difference is that anyone that applies to AA takes their assessment. DL, it's the first step of the interview process. Might be a different way to take a 'practice' test.

Default Assessment questions and gouge

Congrats on the assessment and from what I read further down the postings, on your interview invite. I'm a former A-10 guy and just got the assessment invite. I've used ECIC for the interview prep but wondering about the testing--who'd you go with CUT-E or RST? Someone else? How as the assessment? Appreciate any help and info. Again, congrats!!!!

I don't blame anyone for waiting until I get the results before trusting me though!

FWIW, I'm a military only tanker guy with 4k hours, 3k TPIC, IP/EP. Applied 9/1, 1 fresh LOR 9/9, assessment invite 9/21.

Each section of the assessment has a practice portion before you start. You can practice as many times as you want and it clearly states that it is not recorded. The cut-e was great prep but I spent 5-10 min on each section doing practice problems before I did the real thing. I feel like that’s what made me successful with the assessment, there were no real surprises.

I was able to take the AA test before the DL and agree with your point. Definitely felt more comfortable on the DL assessment after AA. Back when I took the DL assessment no one was talking about cut-e so AA was all the practice I had.

The only other advice I might suggest to anyone who hasn’t taken the assessment is not to get too wrapped up with practice. In my view, the practice tests are more about familiarization than trying to learn the answers. Others may disagree.

Any tips for the personality part? I didn’t pass the hogan with United so I’m pretty worried about this part as well.

I passed the Hogan for UAL and MMPI for DL...opinion is what you paid for it...

From what I have heard, most people fail when they are trying to give the answer they think UAL/DL wants to hear.

For example, one question I remember was "I get along with everyone". Someone trying to game the system would answer True because flying for an airline we have to interact with gate agents, FA's, the other pilot, passengers, hotel front desk folks, etc, etc, and they think that is what the hiring folks want to hear. But I'm willing to bet even the Pope or Mother Teresa had one or two people that rubbed them the wrong way. So to fit in the bell curve, a 'normal' person doesn't get along with 100% of the people they meet, so answering False is Ok.

Another reason I heard was the company is looking for "consistency". I remember taking the Hogan and one question was "I like to snorkel/SCUBA dive", so I answer yes. Some time later another question was "I want to be a deep sea salvage diver". I answer no. Some people see those two questions as being water related / similar question so they need to provide similar answers. To me it was more about risk....just because I like to snorkel with the sting rays in the Caymen Islands, doesn't mean I also want to free dive the Titanic.

Bottom line, don't think too much about the question/answer....RTFQ and answer honestly.

Best of luck to you!
