Saving CQ PP files to Ipad as PDFs

Anyone had any luck on this or am I just extraordinarily technologically incompetent.

I'd like to download the 73 power points for review on the ipad and am, in short, unable.

Any advice out there for those of us who don't program space shuttle missions?

What part are you having trouble with? Saving the PowerPoint files as PDFs? Or getting them to the iPad?

If it’s the former, you should just be able to save the slides as a PDF (File, Save As PDF), but if that doesn’t work you can try going to print the slides except when you click the drop down box to select the printer, there should be an option called Microsoft Print to PDF.

When you select that option and then hit print, a new box will pop up asking where to save the PDF.

If you have them as PDFs already, you should just be able to email yourself the docs and then open them up via Acrobat, but you’ll have to download Acrobat from the App Store first.

If you’re trying to do all of this via iPad, I can’t help you there. Let me know if the above works or not, happy to try to help troubleshoot further.

Download the PowerPoint app. Save them as PowerPoint. They work much nicer that way. Did it for my last CQ and wondered why I hadn’t discovered that before.

I prefer the PDF view, much easier to flip through quickly. I don't know how to save as PDF using the iPad, so I use the PC and email them to myself.

To save it to iPad, open the file, click the middle button at the bottom of the iPad bar (looks like an arrow pointing up out of a box, then send the file to books. It will save as a pdf there.

While on this subject, I've got a similar question. I have a book on my ipad that I purchased, a fairly expensive one so don't want to lose it when we turn in our ipads. How do I move that onto another ipad, or my laptop? Is there a way to download or email it?

Thanks

Probably depends on where you bought it and what app you use to read it.

I’m running into this problem, but with the e-reader app itself. Turns out each purchase of the app is only for that specific device, which sucks.

But I’m going to buy my iPad for the $100, so whatever.

Jax, your advice worked! I prefer to flip through them as PDFs so I downloaded as you foresaw in your prophecy and all is well.

Thanks!

I read the book in question on the app "books". I will not be keeping my ipad. The touchscreen has never worked very well. I've been told it's a power supply problem because the touchscreen works a little better when I unplug the ipad. I hate it. Never works when I need it to.

I thought the iPad gets remotely wiped? Did I misunderstand that? Thought I was going to have to figure how to save stuff even though I'm keeping it

The iPads will be remotely reset by Delta. That's why they ask for the SN of your device in the buy-back form on Deltanet. You will need to transfer things to a safe place before the reset!

I’m a pretty low-level Apple guy, but doesn’t any purchases stay with the Apple ID? In other words, when you get your new iPad, you just restore the purchase in ibooks? It will be the same Apple ID. That’s how all the paid apps work from the AppStore.
