Also look at the ALPA series "Navigating Summer Flying". It's relevant year round.

In addition to the SRH and the Navigate Summer Series, also check out Scheduling Alert 20-09 FAQ about Reserves

Also worth checking out the reserve section in the PBS Reference Handbook.

In general….
company can’t force you into anything before 1000am on your first on call day. Check your schedule at 1500 precisely the day prior; if nothing on schedule, then earliest is 1200pm! when you finish a trip you must check your schedule in icrew. You’ll either be back on LC, in rest, or already have a trip for the next day. They can NOT assign you more flying in same duty period when you block in at end of trip. if you know you are #1 in reserve list, and are going to fly; you may YS to request a trip if you like a certain trip that’s already sitting there. you are full when you hit guarantee +15….but the crappy thing is if you are 2 hours short with 3 days to go, they can hit you with a 3 day! |

That’s a good synopsis, except that you can call scheduling and say “I show myself full” when you have reached reserve guarantee, but if you are just ONE MINUTE SHORT, they can put something else on your schedule and take you to +15… as long as you have the days left. I have learned that the hard way. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
