ALPA “reconciliation”
Second year now I get the “you owe the union 1000.00” email. I thought last year was a one-off and the union/DAL would adjust my deduction.
Is there a way to instruct DL to deduct more in dues?….apparently computers cannot accomplish this.

At the risk of diverting into an investing thread, did you do a mega back door Roth in 2020? I received the same email with an amount that is roughly 2% of my 2020 MBD Roth IRA. My only guess is they are collecting dues on the 401k excess that was self generated.
IIRC we received communication from DALPA that we wouldn't pay dues on self induced 401k excess pay. The dues would only be collected once exceeding the 415C dollar limit of company contributions.

From the last MEC newsletter:
Also:
Based on the income reported to ALPA, it was discovered that dues were under-deducted by Delta payroll for approximately 800 pilots. The adjustments are primarily due to an error in DCO when an entire profit-sharing check is deposited into a pilot’s 401k. Dues have not been deducted in those situations, accounting for 40% of the total dues reconciliations. Approximately 173 pilots, 17% of the total pilots affected by the reconciliation, will receive a dues credit for dues improperly deducted by Delta.
If you find that your outstanding balance represents a financial burden, you may be eligible to set up a Payment Arrangement Plan. Per Article IX, Section 6 of ALPA’s Constitution and By-Laws, this Arrangement would allow you to remit your outstanding obligation in monthly installments.
