Post CJO process

Hello everyone,

I was just wondering what exactly is the process once you’re offered the CJO and accepted the offer. What exactly is the time frame to hear from the background check company, when are class dates given? Is there anyone I need to reach out to? I haven’t really heard anything since and was just wondering on what I can expect. Any recent updates or pireps would be much appreciated. Thank you

You should hear from Cisive within two weeks regarding the background check process. Most of this is done online and is relatively painless. I’d recommend following up once a week once you submit your documents. Once that is complete, Pilot hiring will reach out to you with a class date and some additional paperwork. Aside from keeping Cisive on their feet, there isn’t a whole lot for you to do.

I was about to ask something similar. I was given the CJO the first week of February, Cisive completed my background almost three weeks ago and nothing at all but radio silence from DL since the CJO. Very frustrated with the entire experience thus far post interview; I wouldn’t mind nearly as much if I had some frame of reference as far as the timeline as I don’t know if I’m looking at 2 weeks, or 2 months+ until class at this point.

Were you flying for a delta connection carrier? If so they are metering classes for new hires from those carriers.

Two guys in my squadron who recently got hired said that it was about two months between CJO and indoc start date.

Follow up

when you say follow up are you referencing with Cisive or Delta? Is there anything to worry about with Delta after Cisive paperwork is complete?

I did all of it two years ago when I got my CJO, now I’m working through it all again and trying to make sense of the process. Thanks.

If Cisive has an issue they will contact Delta who will reach out to you. That said, a weekly call to Cisive to verify that things are on track keeps your paperwork from getting lost in the shuffle. They’re happy to talk with you regarding the status of your background check. A week after my background check was submitted to Delta via Cisive, pilot onboarding emailed with a class date. PRIA completion confirmation didn’t come through until the week I started Indoc.

I am, not one of the wholly owned connection carriers but I did hear they were doing that. I wish they’d just tell us that instead of leaving us in the dark for 3 months

So my entire process has been ridiculous. Interviewed on Jan 25th and got CJO. Went to the PARB but was approved 10 days later. Received PRIA approve email 2 weeks ago. Going on 6 weeks since I've started backgrounds with Cisive. Called cisive last week and was told my packet was complete on March 3rd and sent to DL. Called DL same day and was told they show me not even starting backgrounds was questioned if I had even interviewed yet???? I have also received my completed background report from Cisive which shows everything has been cleared. Not sure what is going on, emails and phone calls have been made and its getting no where. Very disappointed in this entire process with DL.

Not excusing the shortcomings of Pilot Selection, but there was a new manager appointed when they resumed hiring this year. They overhauled the process and I think it’s leaving a lot to be desired. I’m really sorry you’ve been treated this way, this isn’t how we should be treating our newest coworkers.

Keep after them. I know it’s not what you want to hear, but that’s the only advice I have.

OO, 9E and RPA are all being metered. Hearing that cjos for those pilots are running 6ish months from CJO

Well I guess on the brightside I’m already two months into the wait at this point! It’d be nice if they’d relay that us instead of saying we’ll be assigned after background clears. Oh well. All said it’s a good problem to have I suppose.

Grab your ankles, that’s the process

Sorry to hear that. Keep bugging them. I think they are just so overwhelmed that they need multiple reminders. Good luck.

Has anyone who works for a DL connection carrier quit before given a class date in order to not be metered?

Did you talk to anyone in particular at Cisive or just their number on the website? I've called the 877 number to check my status, all they can tell me is all of my tasks are completed and to call Delta if I would like further information on my status.

After getting that same answer, I emailed delta relaying the info and that afternoon had a class date invite.

same. one rep did say they could transfer me to the investigative team but they most likely wouldn't be able to give me a timeline update. Said at this point average time is 2-4 weeks.

2 months for me. Lots of time to get that Yellow Fever vaccine. Which is kind of a pain, most places give conflicting info about offering it, whether you can walk in and get it or have to do a consultation etc.

Post interview you get a bunch of emails. I'd suggest either putting all email docs into their own folder, or making a to-do list and adding to it each time you get an email with more tasks. It's easy to miss or forget something and stress over it. Once you're there everyone seemed cool.

OpsCheckOK 03-31-2022 10:14 AM

How long after the CJO did the background check go to Cisive? And are we notified that the process has started?

Yes, i've heard of this happening a few times, including one personally. Went from a 5mo projection to 1mo class date. Obviously a big risk if overnight they somehow figure out how to crack down on it. Never any guarantees. I don't think I could have done it myself, but with 50 new pilots every week, that's a huge seniority swing.

Unfortunately, this loop hole appears to have been closed.

Just out of curiosity what is included in Cisive background report? How far back do they go?

I had to provide 20 years of work history...

When you read the Cisive documentation and questions asked, it uses words like "ALL and ANY".

Correct. If you think "Oh, they're not gonna care about that one job I had in high school waiting tables ages ago..." they do. Speaking from experience.
