Just curious if I missed something. What new procedures?

Check out scheduling Alert 23-05. They are basically automating some of what we had to do via the smartsheets. I believe some of it started today and more automated features kick in for May or possibly June.

Do surface DHDs still only pay if they’re in the same duty period?

I’m flying into SJC and road-tripping up to San Fran for the layover to depart SFO. I remember something in the old PWA that we only got the pay if it was in the same duty period, I’m wondering if that changed.

Yes on first question. No extra money for you.

I’ve always wondered why that whole section is even there, how many times does it happen that a crew takes a 2 hr van ride without a layover?

I’m guessing domestic sports charters. Fly into a hub the surface deadhead to pick up a plane at non commercial airport.

1st world problem but anyone else find it annoying that every once in a while ARCOS calls, you make your selections and an hour later nothing has been awarded and trip(s) are still in opentime?

To add… charters, mx ferries, and between NYC airports. Had it one time during covid of fly into JFK and ground transportation to EWR. I guess it can have its uses but for overnights between LAX/ONT or LGA/JFK (examples I’m familiar with) it doesn’t apply.
