2014 Hire here.
Took me 15 years, 3 bankruptcies and a furlough just to get to 100% and start all over at the bottom. Again.

Why are so many here convinced the only pain in the industry post 9/11 was at PMNW and PMDL?

I APD’d this weekend and I am so so happy to be completely unplugged. My puny September vacation can’t get here soon enough.

Because people are myopic and selfish. If you weren’t furloughed from Delta for 5-8 years then your trials and tribulations just don’t matter.

How dare you consider stagnating at a regional for 10-15 years and experiencing furloughs and bankruptcies equivalent to the hardship that the mainline pilots went through, even though they were the highest paid pilots in the entire industry for that time period!!!

For this thought crime I sentence you to 50 lashes of the green lanyard and you have to wear your hat on your next two trips.

I don’t think many people at Delta are concerned about what happened at other companies for the simple reason that we cannot affect that. How do three BKs at other companies affect you at Delta? We are talking about the Delta Pilot contract so obviously Deltas history is relevant. I don’t care about your pre Delta career anymore than you should care about who got deployed to the the desert in non flying orders in the military prior to coming to Delta. It is irrelevant.

We all made sacrifices and endured hardships prior to Delta - no one should expect the Delta Pilots union to factor anything pre Delta into our current situation.

It's because it's worthless. And it screws up my rolling thunder where I'm fleecing the company. And I was assigned a week that I didn't bid for and they won't let me move.

How about you worry about your schedule and how you want yours and I'll worry about mine.

Learn to use the contract. Working over vacation would affect other pilots.

That’s not the conversation though. The discussion wasn’t about the contract, where I would agree with you.

The discussion was about the general hardships endured and the time it has taken to get to certain upgrades and seniority. And in that, I respectfully disagree, at least in the aggregate. I think it is entirely relevant that many here stagnated at the regionals for nearly a decade at very low pay, as a direct result of the exact same things.

And I say that as a non-regional military guy with no dog in the fight.

You were hired at DL in 2014, but you've been here 15 years?

Are you a time traveler from the year 2029?

I think he means it took him 15 years to get hired at Delta.
