I was on SC yesterday and I was not legal for any/every trip that ran thru open time due to 30/168. Funny thing is, I had about 36 hours between blocking in on last trip to starting the SC. Still no rest assigned with 3 days of availability left before next block of XX days. No longer is this airline trying to be the best...merely trying to be the last loser in the race to the bottom.

Yeah, and “express beverage service” on flights shorter than 500 miles? Totally off topic of this thread, but I’m curious why suddenly we’re not capable of pouring a Diet Coke in a 60+ minute flight.

Pax are noticing all of these changes.

Happens all the time on my BES.....sometimes I think that skeds just pushes ARCOS and tests the waters to see if there are any takers than they look at reserves.

Just last period I had 5 days available and they gave away two 5day GS's that started late into day 1 and I got day one off followed by a SC on day two then off the last three days (in fact they assigned me rest on the Friday so that I'd be able to GS myself over the weekend if I wanted).

This is like the reserves getting GS pay, cause each period that goes by that they don't use me makes my $$$ per flight hour go even higher for the month.

Your life is much less stressful if you don't try running skeds from home, but instead roll with the punches and enjoy the inefficiencies while they last, cause like all cycles, they'll get smart again when the manning has caught up. Not saying to let a PWA violation slide, but if some pilots are getting bonus GS's because skeds is overwhelmed in other BES's, well that's the way the weenie wobbles sometimes. Enjoy the summer!

So to qualify my statement a bit, i wasn’t complaining really. Just find it interesting the company constantly want efficiencies from the pilots when they don’t take advantage of the ones that they currently have in place.
