SYD and JNB. JNB doesn’t get limited by MTOW, it’s usually climb; so 1.3k off the jet means 1.3k more fuel/revenue. Also software changes for faster gear retraction and flap settings would be completely geared to improving climb limits. This could likely help quite a bit for high/hot airports. |

Skywest pro-rate flying will likely still be flying CRJ2s out of SLC, MSP, DTW beyond 2023. About 20 flying today. Previous 10Ks had this stated with an *asterisk. |

Glen was speaking specifically about an A350 derivative. The A338 has the same issue as the 787-8 as a 763 replacement; its too heavy and has too much range than would be needed resulting in poor CASM. He also spoke of the 7ER fleet soldiering on for another 8 yrs or so, so it doesnt sound like a replacement has even been identified. I think they want to hold out for Boeing and the NMA.

Pilots are going to Love the new cockpit with the bulkhead moved forward and main jumpseat removed and 2 flip down flight attendant style jumpseats. To get the extra width they are reducing sidewall thickness but claim newer insulation will keep people warm on 16 hour flights.
