New routes to be announced within next week and new WB order by end of year. Doesnt take much imagination from the hints that it'll likely be the A350-1000. A350-900ULR could also be a darkhorse candidate.

717s will return to Prepandemic fleet size. 757s being moved to routes less than 2100. 321NEO replacing it on longer routes.

All 50 seaters retired in 2023. Two class setup up on every Delta flight.

I’m interested in how the 717 fleet is going back, didn’t we part some completely out never to return?

Full disclosure, I didn’t watch it, yet.

BRING ON MORE WIDE BODIES!

SYD and JNB.

JNB doesn’t get limited by MTOW, it’s usually climb; so 1.3k off the jet means 1.3k more fuel/revenue.

Also software changes for faster gear retraction and flap settings would be completely geared to improving climb limits. This could likely help quite a bit for high/hot airports.

Good news for sure. Any little helps especially in JNB. A350 seems to be a lean mean machine when it gets rolling. Would love to see some -1000s chugging around the network too. Could throw a larger first class in for some of the prestige routes.

That would be an outstanding ER replacement.

It would, but I can’t help but think we’d just order 339s instead. Might be “too much” plane, but block costs are probably close enough that the extra seats are worth it, especially as it gives flexibility to be used around the network. The 338 range isn’t needed for any 763 routes. Might as well just eat the extra seats and have the ability to shift those planes anywhere with no seat loss.

Glen was speaking specifically about an A350 derivative. The A338 has the same issue as the 787-8 as a 763 replacement; its too heavy and has too much range than would be needed resulting in poor CASM. He also spoke of the 7ER fleet soldiering on for another 8 yrs or so, so it doesnt sound like a replacement has even been identified. I think they want to hold out for Boeing and the NMA.

Just a minor point to the 50-seater retirements.. Skywest pro-rate flying will likely still be flying CRJ2s out of SLC, MSP, DTW beyond 2023. About 20 flying today. Previous 10Ks had this stated with an *asterisk.

You're spot on. The 75/76 is staying into the early 2030s. It was stated the current order book of the 350 will result in a fleet size that is bigger than the 777 and 747 fleetd were combined. Then a new order for a 350 derivative was hinted

Pilots are going to Love the new cockpit with the bulkhead moved forward and main jumpseat removed and 2 flip down flight attendant style jumpseats. To get the extra width they are reducing sidewall thickness but claim newer insulation will keep people warm on 16 hour flights.
