20-something Year Old Widebody Capts
Looking at the projected lists looks like Delta will have several Widebody Captains in their mid-twenties with the youngest being a 24 yr old ATL7ERA. Happy for my co-workers and what an amazing time to be an airline pilot.

I’ve been told the 7ER is not a real widebody. Discuss.
how hard can it be? I was flying around the world in the military younger than that. Training is a heckuva thing. Relax, it’ll be ok.
Awesome time to be a young delta pilot. Congrats and thanks for keeping some of us more senior.

Looking at the SL, there were many 23-25 year old guys hired late 80s early 90s. Just a reversion to how it should be… Less time messing around at a regional. I’d have gladly sat sideways if it meant starting at my legacy sooner at like 23.
I was an RJ skipper at 24, doing 5 legs in and out of LGA in a blizzard. One leg to Zurich on an ER is cake.
That comment section is a joy to behold. Always nice to see these travel bloggers and how we are just the help, and one step away from a single cell amoeba.

When my class was hired we heard the same narrative from the company about short upgrades, burn your resumes you will never need to send them out again. Then 9-11 happened. Being humble in this profession, and more importantly in life, will protect your soul if fate somehow changes your "plan for life". If we really think about all the variables in life needed to carry out our plan, it becomes evident how little control we all have of those variables. Be grateful and humble.

Yeah, there have been a few grumblings from older pilots. One older Delta pilot ignorantly posted on the Delta Non-rev Facebook page that he'll be checking seniority numbers before putting his family on a flight overseas. Similar comments were made 7 years ago when the 88 started going silly junior. But overwhelmingly the feedback has been positive and most pilots are happy that the movement continues.

It’s only a matter of time before crew members get killed in a van ride. Accommodations really needs to look hard at transportation providers.
I fill the FCRs but nothing seems to change.
