Funny how every time the banks start failing and the economy is about to crash, they raise the retirement age and give us a 1-2 punch.
I feel like I've seen this movie before.
The legacy carriers have already hired for retirements and the covid travel bubble which is about to burst. If this passes without conditions, expect mass furloughs with 2 years on the street. Many pilots will no longer be needed until retirements pick up again.
But thankfully, A4A is against it because they know most of the affected pilots just want another 2 years of disability payments. I hear a loophole is being carved out that you'll actually have to work to qualify.
But yeah time to write your senators and reps again.
The greed of a certain generation knows no bounds.

Write your members of Congress. Don't let the loud old guys be the only voice heard on this.
It's amazing how that demographic didn't do **** to bolster their retirment over the last three contracts. Didn't put up a fight on C12 or TA2. Didn't put up any candidates in the last LEC elections to give themselves a voice at the table.
But now they think they can get a windfall and **** over everyone else by sending a few emails from their boats and second homes.
Don't let them get away with it.

RAA President Faye Malarkey Black in an email said raising the retirement age is "the one solution that will immediately mitigate the pilot shortage, particularly the captain shortage, which is an even more acute constraint within a constraint."
This is too easy.
This is too easy.
