Goodbye "Pilot cups"
#21
Seriously. One single flight burn of a 350 from LAX-SDY has to be far more damaging to the climate than a decade worth of “pilot cups”.
I’m fine with cost cutting. But the inherent business model of airlines is the antithesis of Gaia love. Don’t p*** in my ear and tell me it’s raining.
(It’s like the Navy celebrating “green”, while dumping ship garbage all over the planet. Do they still do that?)

[Industry that burns hydrocarbons at enormous rates and disperses these greenhouse gasses at the highest and most damaging altitudes] has entered the chat.

What is it with this attitude towards environmentalism of "well if we can't be 100% environmentally friendly then why even bother with 1%?" Not every dollar I invest is a winner, does that mean I should just stop investing all together? Can't do it 100% perfect so why bother doing anything at all, right? 🙄
As far as ditching the Styrofoam cups, I welcome this. Ignoring the cost, complexity and utter stupidity of stocking separate cups and lids for "crew use", Styrofoam is a scourge. I haven't willingly used a Styrofoam cup in years, even going so far as to not order drinks from places that I know use Styrofoam (I'm looking at you Whataburger). This move just makes it that much easier.

Not at all. Be sure not to pee in the ocean when you’re out for a swim.
This is exactly the same as making sure a Deepwater Horizon, Exxon Valdez, or a Nord Stream 3x pipeline “failure” doesn’t happen again.
Every little bit helps.

we can burn hydrocarbons and still not be needlessly wasteful in other areas. Every little bit helps (but in earnest).

And more selfishly you don’t have to look at your burnt hydrocarbons on the side of the road and animals don’t choke on them directly…
Also, if we cut carbon emissions, eventually it’s possible for the planet to digest emissions whereas styrofoam is forever. Or at least until the plate the landfill is on subsides into the mantle

Styrofoam is an endocrine disrupter, linked to increased estrogen. Maybe delta is just trying to make you more manly
