Delta hiring process for dummies

Hi

I have been following the new hire process tread but with all the short hand and acronyms I am lost. I am an American but have been overseas since college left US after getting my CPL and my degree from ERAU and been working as aeronautical engineering for aircraft manufacturers and currently flying in Europe as FO on B737.TT 3500 hr and 3000 hr is on the 737 have BS and MS from ERAU all aviation related. I am hoping to get back home soon while there is a boom and looking at doing ATP- CPT with Delta maybe in the fall.

First of all any advice is welcome I am overwhelmed, feels like a completely different world….

Question I have so many but to start with ….please explain..”top tier email” , for interviews people talk about TMAAT , WWYD, MMPI…what is that mean

So my understanding is that there is no SIM assessment as part of the interview process is that correct?

Thanks in advance

Delta sends an email, presumably when your app has been scored, to individuals who have applications in the top tier of all the apps. The email uses the phrase: "top tier."

TMAAT: "Tell me about a time...."

WWYD: "What would you do...."

MMPI: computer-based psychological test that Delta administers to individuals during the application process. If a CJO is offered the results of the test are reviewed. There is also an in-person (well, Zoom/video conference) component with a psychologist who has looked at your MMPI test.

When did this “top tier” thing start?

Airlines stopped doing Sim checks in the interviews decades ago . Guess they figure no need to . I interviewed at USAir in 98’ and had to jump in a 727 sim for the interview . I mean interviews are cake walks now days. You have great experience so you should be golden. You could always go through propel.

I think he was asking when did the company begin using the “top tier” email technique.

I’m not sure, but I think it’s a post-Covid thing given the mad rush for qualified applicants.

It started right around the beginning of the year. My first contact from Delta last November was a fix-it email. Even after one unsuccessful assessment, I never received a top-tier email. I must have been in just under the wire.

Thank you . So basically top tier is like they rank you based on the experience ? And I this email is after or before the online evaluation ?

My next question the online evaluation how do you prepare for it ? I seen some people say apply for AA and use to practice that feels to much are there providers? So they send you a link you do it at your home or like some of the airlines in Europe you to go in a center use their computer ?

I guess the panel interview will be after the online in full day, I have seen on aviationinterviews some feedback. is that good source to prepare or are there others is it worth paying for it?

I am sure I will have more…..thanks guys
