Upcoming New Hire Classes ?
 

Hi y'all, I was wondering if anyone knows when to expect the next new hire classes. I've been waiting for some time now with a CJO. Does it look like there will be any classes soon or even this year?

The short answer is no one knows. They aren’t telling us anything either.

Supposedly, Flight Standards (line check) pilots have been told not to expect any classes until the new year. Many other folks also think classes will restart very early in 2026(vices later in 2026). Staffing has been pretty tight this summer, but that water is already under the bridge. They probably won’t hire for the fall, when things normally slack off until the holidays…

FWIW, retirements are 500/year until 2032. They can’t hold off much beyond the new year, IMO.

I've heard no hiring until at least Q2 next year. Even then you've got 9E flows plus Propel pilots pilling up so OTS may be a tough get whenever hiring starts again, unless we go back to 1000+/yr right away.

My system seniority is in the 30% range and even I have moved up over 100 numbers in the last 2 months so I echo Fangs's comment about hiring can't be staved off much longer.

Yes, unless we’re planning on shrinking or not taking any deliveries I don’t see how we can keep going without many upgrades or new hires. I hope they don’t regret this lull…

The longer we wait to hire, the more Summer 2026 will be a repeat of the hot summer of 2019…or worse.

Agree. This summer is off to a great start as well..
