If anyone interested, here is a good recap of the actual negotiations and how they failed. There was a deal, Obama reneged; that marginalized the moderates who had managed to split the gap.

... and mind you, Frontline is PBS ... even an honest liberal will call this ....

Again Mods, my apologies. This is a political issue which effects the health of our employment. Either side could move, but when you marginalize the moderates things get worse.

Good post Bar. How can are government function if its leaders can't trust each other to live up to the deals they've negotiated? Then there's no reason to negotiate in the future.

Simpson-Bowles offered a new compromise plan yesterday. Wonder if anyone will try to run with it.

Latest update from SD - "eLink" electronic flight books are approved and funded. Every pilot will be issued one in the next 2 years on a fleet by fleet basis. It's a Windows 8 tablet. From what I've heard, Windows 8 takes a lot of getting used to.

If SD said it then it must be true.

I insist on 9hrs behind door. The intent is to get 8hrs of uninterrupted sleep... so .5hr to get ready for bed, .5hr to get ready for pick-up.

Only once did tracking try to argue the point... I just said my phone will be off for the next 9hrs. Never been questioned by CPO... though not really concerned about that either.

My kid's school refuses to use the term "lying". Rather, they refer to it as speaking "mis-truths". I believe SD is full of mistruths.

I am serious as a heart attack. Kids don't sit Indian style anymore. Now they sit "criss cross apple sauce" My kids sit indian style and I make them play on the highway. The other day I took my six year old to the store without her booster seat. I have no idea how we survived the two mile trip.

Great show. I sent it to my son, as well. He's a real weather nut! Thanks for the link.
