Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
When will training dates be posted for the AE and where can I expect to find this info? I read somewhere that training could start in October
Thanks

So if you're on an airplane for 1 year, get displaced to a smaller aircraft, then 6 months later use displacement rights via AE to go back to bigger aircraft, your seat lock starts over again? The conversion window is 6 months. That's a pretty big window. How do I know when I go back to training? This process pretty much lets the company do what they want with me on very short notice. I don't like it. Can we go back to the APA process which is very structured and gives the company very little freedom? How do they decide who to convert first? Is it seniority based or just random?
So for everyone in Detroit just a reminder and a call to action... Tomorrow Friday the 25th from 10am to 4pm union meeting in the crew room! The big point of the meeting will be scope and it would really help to have spirited scope hawks there to make your voice heard!! Lee Moak will be there and we need him to see you care about scope!!!

Surprised no one else has bought this up yet...
Some really good guys got nominated to run for C44 Rep positions today. Congratulations to those selected. Even those who did not win were terrific people and most pilots in attendance found it difficult to chose amongst very competitive candidates. It was a tough choice.
It is my hope that all who ran for a nomination are willing to serve in other capacities too. It's good to see the quality of people that step up for our association!

God I hope you guys give them hell.
You are incorrect. It was a special bid to give people a shot at Express captain, a handful of people took advantage of it--thereby displacing a handful of people. Moot point as the base closure did indeed follow. Some guys specifically came down just to get their 737 type rating--just in case. Talked with many of them.

I'm still greatly confused regarding the NW 757-5500 series planes.
I'm aware 5501 and 5502 have been updated up-front to work with DL's systems and work will continue on the remaining operating 5500's...but none of these planes have received paint or interior mods and apparently there are no plans to do it in the future.
So why is DL spending the money to upgrade the cockpit if there is no future for them? NW just sent 4 to Marana (MZJ) earlier this month. The most consistent rumor I've heard is the 757-5500 won't fly past mid-late 2010.
Anyone know anything more concrete than what's out there?

The good friends of ACL and Brakechatter spoke well. I had two disappointments in the process. One (personal) is that one of the more qualified guys (imo) failed to make the ballot. Instead, a rather mercurial chest pounder (who didn't present himself that way today) got the nod. It's all part of the democratic process for our union. The second is the low percentage of voters engaged in that democratic process. I don't remember the final numbers, but I'd be surprised if a quarter of the eligible pilots voted.
Still, 44 has a good slate of people from which to choose. We're fortunate that folks are continually willing to step up, take the slings and arrows, and do the grunt work required to support our pilot group and contract.

I'd say it was just that, a rumor. The other day there was a list published showing which 757s are scheduled for the DAL mods, and a proportional number were 5500 series 757s. Some have had the interior mods as well.
