Maybe additional liability insurance? It’s probably worth a call to the ALPA benefits folks since I, apparently, don’t know exactly what I’m talking about. 😳
My hunch is that this GA insurance is for non-pilot Delta employees. Deltanet can be confusing in multiple ways when it assumes the viewer isn't party to our unique PWA (e.g., mil leave, profit sharing, etc.). What throws me is people relaying what they remember hearing in indoc...

I believe since the company provided insurance replaces the old spousal payment plan in the event of a pilot death there are no exclusions. I am not 100% on that however I have a email in to the people who will know. Will post the reply here.
Additional insurance purchased through the company plan does not cover private flying. You must purchase the separate private flying insurance.

Here is the answer:
There are no exclusions on the basic life except death at the hands of your beneficiary.

Sounds like a beneficiary exclusion and not a policy exclusion. Bet the policy still pays, just not to the murderous beneficiary who, ironically, is (for legal purposes) deemed to have pre-deceased the policy holder they killed (or had killed). 😁

I don’t remember the GA pilot insurance from indoc. I remember it from signing up for it every year in open enrollment. And as far as I can tell, I am an active pilot for Delta.

Sure, but just because they're willing to sell it to you, doesn't mean you aren't already also covered by the company provided life insurance. It sounds like Sailingfun got the answer directly from the ALPA benefits folks. Am I missing something?

He may be carrying additional insurance through open enrollment. If so and he feels he needs the extra coverage you need the private pilot insurance or purchase insurance on your own without a private flying exclusion.

But aside from any of that, we're covered under GA flying with the standard plan almost everyone is on right?
