Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Are those car keys in her hand? She won't be needing those either.... nor the wallet that probably resides in that European shoulder bag. Good for her, but did ya'll know they awarded a CMOH yesterday too? To a guy that is still alive. Here's raising a glass to him and all those like him...
I'd vote her for Queen.
hopefully FTB doesn't get another infraction over this video... I mean the last one was a Soprano's video with two mobsters taking out lawn workers working in their "neighborhoods".

What in the hell??! OK, who's up for heading over to the frat house and cramming a vodka soaked tampon up their rectum? Is this an SEC thing?

Vodka eyeball shots a dangerous way to imbibe
By Elizabeth Weise, USA TODAY
College students have long done crazy things, from swallowing gold fish to jamming themselves into telephone booths. Not all things they try are dangerous, but some are.
Two new cases in point: consumption of controversial alcoholic energy drinks likely to be banned today; and a bizarre method of trying to get plastered by absorbing alcohol through the eyeball.
CAFFEINATED ALCOHOL: Feds move to ban Four Loko, similar products
The eyeball shots don't succeed and definitely fall in the category of risky behaviors, experts say.
"This is an activity that has no upside to it," says David Granet, a professor of ophthalmology at the University of California, San Diego.
The theory among the students seems to be that alcohol can be absorbed through mucous membranes, and the eyeball and inner side of the eyelids are covered in mucous membrane, so, voila!— vodka eyeball shots. There are more than 30 homemade videos of young men doing this on YouTube.
Not only does it fail to get someone drunk, "it hurts and it will cause permanent damage to the surface of the eye," Granet says.
Ophthalmologists have been speaking out against this trend ever since it appeared on U.S. campuses last spring. According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, it appears to have begun in England.
"There is absolutely, positively nothing that can be construed as fun about this," Granet says.
These kinds of stunts are "a normal reflection of this developmental stage," says Paul Lyons, a professor of community medicine at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Drinking pranks are really just experimentation by young adults who are not at full adult decision-making capacity, he says.
Another generally ineffectual means of becoming inebriated is the use of vodka-soaked tampons for both women and men (used as suppositories for males).

Regarding hiring... When I went though indoc (recently, excuse the new guy for piping up) The network guy and a few of the other folks had a whole list of recent and planned events (MD-90, Int'l expansion, slot swap, etc) that were not accounted for with just hiring the 300 this time around. We were told a number of times that the 300 this year was specifically for the summer '11 schedule. They all seemed extremely bullish regarding hiring, not just specifically for next year but for the next 3-5. Every management type seemed to feel that this is the start of a huge hiring cycle at Delta.
However, some buds in the last indoc seemed to get the impression that there was daily back and forth on hiring numbers for next year, that a lot was up in the air next year for various reasons.
Also heard it said that many folks in high places felt Alaska was just too expensive. Isn't there a lot to be said for not buying the cow when you get the milk for free?
Other than the standard 717 and MD-88/90 cockpit upgrade talk, have also heard of couple of the instructors discussing JAL 747 rumors. None of them claimed to have any real inside gouge, though. This rumor seems to have died.
Speaking of a potential Alaska merger, How would that effect Delta folks if the SLI went close to how it went with Northwest? Anyone have good info on age distro of the AK pilot group? I am also curious how it might effect folks trying to get out west that were hired at Mother D before the merger.
Wouldn't securing Alaska let us build Seattle more aggressively as our gateway to Asia, resulting in more 767 work out of Seattle?
Everyone on here seems fascinated by the possibility, but would an Alaska merger be good or bad for the Delta pilot group WRT seniority? Are we hoping this happens or hoping it doesn't?

Hello guys. Just a quick question for anyone in the know. I've had my app in with Delta for some time now (I know, along with the other 10,000 people). I received the, "we're looking at your app" and "fix this one time gap in your application" emails about 2 days before the "off the street" stuff that was happening this summer was cut off. In other words, I was late to the party. I've been told by some buddies at Delta that typically if you get the email stuff you will shortly get the phone call for an interview. Can anyone substantiate that? Also, if that's correct, do they typically pick up where they left off if they do indeed hire this next year, as is the rumor? Just wondering if they were looking at potential people to call will they either: A. Pick up where they left off / or B. Throw everyone back in the barrel and re-sort the pile? Sorry for being so long winded. Thanks for any help.
Probably be bad for the junior guys in SEA, LAX and SLC.
