Well, they told you where they are not absorbing the pilots. I think FTBs analysis of the effects of trip parking were correct.

Also, never sell yourself short. I'm not saying it's time to bid A positions but I would put every single ATL B spot on your displacement bid. A whole bunch of guys got 7ER in MSP that never thought in a million years. Bottom line, you can't get it if you don't have it on your card.

Hence the change. We are getting close to contract 2012. If they can make the ATL pilots happy, they will carry the companies water with the yes vote. With 34.6 percent of the pilots based in ATL, do not have to buy off too many more to pass a weak contract

Not saying it will happen, but it sure looks like the plan.

i've always thought as a company you should be giving in going into a contract negotiation not going the opposite direction. I watch so many airlines recently bow up going into contract negotiations and laugh. Really?

You want us to believe your Tommy Lasorda, you hit my batter, I'll hit one or two of yours.

It's so much easier to take down a pilot group by giving in here and there. There will be far more pilots who see that as a gesture of good faith versus pilots who say I'll take that and whatever else you got?

Pacify Atlanta? Not a bad idea if this ^^ is your philosophy.

just an observation, nothing more.

And I'm not a basketball fan but man, these finals have been guaranteed good every time. tied with < 3min to go.

Not a bad idea unless you are not an ATL pilot.

Good observation. We'll see how the good cop bad cop negotiating game plays out.

What about 7ER DTW? There are probably people junior to you on that thing.

Yeah, but 24 hr SC really sucks for commuters.

Most 330As don't want to go to ATL for a 5-6 week school/sims for the ER. They may opt to go to 744A school since it might still be done in MSP before Natco is closed. Same goes for a lot of the 330Bs, but they may go to ATL for that long school if it gets them a left seat on a narrowbody. A 5-6 week school for the ER right seat just wouldn't be worth it for those senior folks. Some 330Bs may also just stay on the plane and commute to DTW for their one 12 day trip per month. Most up there in MSP want to avoid ATL at all costs. DTW 330 pilots often are commuters, and many live in FLA. They may bid ATL 330 if it is an easier or shorter commute. I bet it goes very senior, and DTW 330 goes more junior. Add to it the $20 per hour pay cut to go down to the 767ER, and most will follow the plane or go upwards to the 747.
