That's because you are "a completely disinterested 3rd party"

If you were interested, you'd understand that this has very much to do with the pilots at Delta Air Lines...
It's not like the debate is about voting rules and NLRB rulings...

Perhaps a Delta subforum in the Majors section is in order?

Cheers

Since there is a UAL/CAL subforum, it's probably a good idea.

The problem with not moving stuff is that the Major forum becomes a huge dumping ground. 90% of the threads that I move are from the Major forum, probably because it's the first one that pops up.

There is a dedicated forum just for Union issues, not just at Delta (a major airline), but USAirways (also a major), Pinnacle (not so major), JetBlue, etc, etc, etc. They're all over there !!

I carved out as many of the "union" type comments in the past few pages, and sent them to a new thread in Unions. That's the place to discuss it.
Well sometimes you simply can't fight City Hall. I thought this was one place where ALPA couldn't stop speech that it hated. I was wrong. Now we have moderators pulling individual posts and burying them to the thread graveyard.

If the APC moderators are doing this, I don't have any idea about when they're doing it with other issues. ALPA is very powerful in squelching speech. Only time will tell if it works for them yet again.

Bye guys. Over and out.

Carl

Typically brilliant HuffPo editing:

"Delta spokeswoman Chris Kelly Singley says a plane headed to Minneapolis and one headed to Atlanta made struck each other before takeoff Friday. Singley said there were no injuries."

+1

These forums owe a large part of their popularity to the fact that people perceive them as a place where they can anonymously share what is on their mind. If you take away the ability of folks to discuss their ideas in a populated forum or if you edit and re-arrange discussions into threads that they did not originally take place in then this place loses its intrinsic value to the majority of us who come here.

Guys- there is some discussion on going in regards to the Union Talk stuff... moving stuff off of this forum and burying them in that forum is not the right answer- this stuff needs to be easily discussed.

I'm working with the others to come up with an agreeable decision.

Carl, are you really trying to blame ALPA for the operation of a private business? I don't believe the operators/owners of APC really care what ALPA thinks.

Is it SOOO difficult to make one or two more mouse clicks? That's a far cry from ALPA "stopping" speech.

The union forum would not be a graveyard for DPA posts is there were a sufficient number of pilots who were interested in it.

Absolutely. Ask any webmaster. Two clicks away is like Siberia. The DPA thread was pretty lively while it was a "Major" topic. Since it was moved -- it's dead.

I like a good union battle as much as the next guy but only in measured doses. When it becomes repetitive, descends into name calling and the debate is not being advanced, I lose interest. I'd rather not see posts removed and censorship of L&G but in my opinion the ALPA/DPA food fight was starting to become more annoying than illuminating.

I liked it in its own thread. It seemed more focused and actually informative.
I absolutely respect the APC management's right to categorize the discussions however they see fit, but let's face reality --- "Union Talk" is Siberia.

I hope someone can come up with a compromise.
