There are 2 different buckets, SC bucket and Days of Availability bucket. The SC bucket applies only to those with in the same Days of Availability bucket. If you are good for 4 days and he is good for 3, it doesn't matter how many SC's he has compared to you. He could have 1 & you could have 3, & if scheduling wants the 4 day guy on SC then you're getting it.

IOW more scheduling sophistry. They can do what they want and as long as you're not in a large, well staffed base, they will find a way to make it legal.

Well, if we didn't give them that flexibility I think they'd be pretty handcuffed. If they're coming off the weekend and the most junior guys are in the 1 day bucket while the more senior are in the 4 day bucket, it makes no sense to have to assign the SC's to the 1 day guys. It's a good fix to the current contract as it gives people the ability to exercise their seniority. If you were junior before you were pretty much hosed anyways, especially in a small category. But before there was no structure to SC assignment, & this way there actually is.
