Doesn't hurt. I worked at a concert venue and included that, even though it was greater than 10 years ago. You never know where they see value in your past jobs. Customer service is customer service. Also shows you did what you needed to do to pay for school.

It means a lot that you worked while in school, even if it was just to pay for beer. It takes discipline to get up on Sat morning to go to work when all your buds are sleeping in.

I believe that Delta wants every second accounted for since high school graduation. I was of the understanding that accounting for summer months between school years should be accounted for. In my unemployment section, I listed any gap that was not covered by education or job. Before I did that, I got a fix-it email.

If he is on airline job #5 that could be a bad thing as well. Depending on why he has so many jobs could actually be hurting his overall score.
I heard from Arnie Kraby as well, ask a friend at a job fair. He said "you didn't do that online program did you?" So obviously the online degree program is not looked at as a good degree from Arnie's perspective. I guess they rank the schools by tiers and the determines your overall school as well. So if your buddy did online and has had a a lot of jobs, that could bring his overall score down.

Absolutely yes. Those jobs are a big deal and help tell your story. If anything, its an asset for your application when they hand review it. They want everything since high school. Give them everything since high school. The last thing you want to do is not put something down they wanted just because you don't think they really should want it.

So those who chose to fly full time while working toward their degree are discounted? It seems like it would show determination and motivation to me if someone chose to do that. Also, almost everyone always tells new guys that it doesn't matter where or how you get your degree, just "get that 4-year degree so you can check the box." Apparently that's not the whole truth at this day and age.

It resets in January, but they will likely hold back another 90 days. So it won't start filling new hire classes until April most likely.

No internal recs. Nothing really that set me apart except Masters degree. Just an average RJ pilot. No military.
If someone knew exactly what they are looking for they would be filthy rich. Just do the best that you can and work hard. Your chance will come.
Any degree count. Of course, a Georgetown degree is years better than University of Phoenix, but online degrees are not looked down upon.
Also, for those interviewing soon, the majority of the 3 and 4 star hotels around the airport have complimentary shuttle to Delta Headquarters. You dont need to stay at the Hilton to avoid a cab or rental car. Im staying at a 4 star for 1/2 of what Hilton was charging.

The reality is that hiring has only begun in earnest, and right now the most competitive candidates are being called. A four year degree that is not from an accredited school isn't valid, and hasn't been for as long as I can remember. Flying full time while working on a degree isn't discounted, however.
