Probably. But why do any of us want an "unbiased computer program" in the first place? I think its the wrong way to go to almost completely disregard the line pilots in the process in the first place. Yes I realize that "back in the day" it was a little too much who you knew. But now the pendulum has swung WAY too far in the other direction. Several airlines still value line plot recommendations far more than DL does. At least give the pilots a one time rec that carries more weight than a simple app scoring. JMHO.

I had a client who had 4 checkride failures at a regional get hired at Delta. Apply online and update your application every 1st of the month. Always try to improve your professional and personal life.
I have also seen guys with a DUI get hired. It is what you do after your mistakes that matters the most. Good luck.

True. But at some point, ability should matter. Lets just agree the industry doesn't need the types of CA Colgan 3407.

Edit - maybe that’s what you were saying. I’m not sure after re-reading.

I know I'm going to get hit with the No one is perfect and they learned from their mistakes crowd, however I find it a little troubling that we have a ton of candidates in our application pool that DO NOT have 4 checkride failures but are not getting the invite to interview. I would find it very hard to believe that an unbiased computer program would drop this candidates name into the invite group without someone actively going in and doing it.

I agree with everything that you say and I guess my point was missed. The only people that seem to have the ability to go in and have pull with getting a candidate hired now a days work in offices not flight decks. Just my opinion watching hiring go from Plato to present day. 4 busted checkrides at a regional shows a trend to me and I'll stand by my assessment that this guy/gal just jumped over many more candidates that were much more qualified.
Plato Ryan was awesome
