So if alitalia JV flying is being drawn down, again i ask what is the reason they want the new language?

So that we can be dropped to 49% and remain in compliance.

That was easy.

And why would we just give that away haha. We settled it for pennies on the dollar at $30 million, it's worth waaaay more than that

As I mentioned we demanded and got a far tighter compliance schedule. Do you think management wants their hands tied to something subject to outside factors? Did they plan for Kiev being a battle ground? Revolutions and unrest canceling Amman and Cairo. They want their hands tied the least possible. Their choice would be zero scope. Ours is different.

I'm picking up what you're putting down but do you really think we should just give this away. The pay rates were a trade for PS. So what did we get for this? Extra vacation? No. Holiday pay? No. Better medical insurance? No. What did we get? We got more concessions. I just don't believe in giving something so valuable away for free. The company would never do something like that for us.

What about Edinburgh, Budapest, Bucharest, Cape Town, Lyon, Vienna, and Berlin?

War was nowhere near Kiev when we left it. The tighter compliance would have been acceptable had we not then allowed them to drop our share even further. Which will no doubt happen within a year or so. Amman and Cairo are in Islamic countries last I checked. Just like Turkey. Bastions of stability.

-> Devil's advocate... What about 16x each day to AMS?? What about nearly as many each day to CDG?? ON DELTA METAL. Much of it in very large jets. Would we be doing that amount of lift to those two hubs without the JV?

I don't have all the JV answers, but it is NOT nearly as naively simplistic as listing 6 ex-DL nonstops which are now served via the JV.

And with a BH metric as the JV standard, we will get killed in Asia. We fly a 767 from LAX to NRT, our Asian partner will fly the A380 back. It's coming if we vote in the BH ratio.

Isn't that what the global production thingy is all about? I don't have the complete picture on that either, but isn't there some language that levels that all out?
