Delta Air Lines - Looks To Have Solid Runway In Back Half Of 2015
Jul. 8, 2015 1:03 PM • dal Summary Falling crude oil prices have led many to believe that airline stocks are a buy. We believe Delta Air Lines is the choice investment in this space. Our Revenue / RPM analysis leads us to believe Delta is poised to top revenue estimates for Q2. On a forward PEG basis, Delta is notably undervalued. We believe Delta will be a strong performer in the back half of 2015. http://m.seekingalpha.com/article/3311675-delta-air-lines-looks-to-have-solid-runway-in-back-half-of-2015?app=1&auth_param=7o4hr:1apqm0k:809200c6c6da55 2ab86858cb5002c6f5 |
I would wait until after TA results to submit that order. Just in case.
Maybe we'll have the results before the market closes Friday? |

There is an opposing view on Delta's future. It was from a former C44 Rep and posted on fb but then later deleted. It's on chit chat but I won't repost it in its entirety but rather give you a summation:
1990 DAL pilots accepted a 2% pay raise, some thought we should have gotten more, then Iraq invaded Kuwait. May 2001 Delta pilots sign C2K and then in September, 9/11. This TA is borderline for many of us with onerous issues that in a perfect world may be reasons to vote no... but China and Greece. We MAY be in an environment where aviation profits are brought to zero and we may be stuck with these rates for some time, like 4 years. "With a No vote, and implosion of our Pacific network, an already bad N. Atlantic network, a Brazilian economy that is forcing cutbacks in flying there and the Middle East carriers with unlimited funds, we do not have a bright future. Gloom and doom. Yes. Check your 401k. Read the news on China and Greece. You can always change your vote to Yes." __________________________________________________ Thoughts? Is this insight into how the MEC views things? Or the company? Doesn't seem the company has this point of view because if they did, why even agree with the "most expensive contract ever"? |
Double post.......

Nester has even more reason to vote No now. I read he told a fellow pilot his main reason for voting yes on such an insulting TA was the economics reports (by the company, none the less) forecast rough waters were ahead. Yeah, I can't believe the stuff some people pull out their arse either.
The Company's declining fall PRASM guidance (which was preceded by reports by American and Southwest) was not mentioned in any of those articles, that I recall. |
If the Co. ran true to form, wouldn't they ask for the money back anyway?

If, OTOH, the numbers are going to slip from 6B in profits to 4 or even 3 or even 2B in profits, not one penny of that will effect our business plan beyond reduced money shredding at the share buyback machine…and we'd still be 2, 3 or 4 times more profitable than the last time we negotiated. |

Nestor's vote counts the exact same as your's, or mine. He published his reasoning in his Council Perspective and signed a letter by a majority of the reps (18) a day ago. There is no need to guess about his thought process. You can sign on to your MEC's web page and read any Representative's Comms in their Council. All of the letters are informative reading.
