How much of our dues were spent debating, and presenting this TA?

$100,000 - $200,000 - $500,000 ?

When a negotiation is TA'd, it sets in motion a very expensive process. In order to spend our union dollars wisely, we can only afford to send agreements forward that have a strong chance of passing. This TA was rejected, by a compelling majority. It seemed obvious from the start.

So... who is responsible for this decision, and how much exactly did it cost us?

Aside from the damage this TA might have done to the profession, what exactly was the direct financial loss of this mistake?

Anyone venture to guess? Will ALPA disclose this number? Should that person/persons be held accountable?

ridiculous. cost of doing business. get over it and move forward. do you expect your elected (political) officials to personal be financially responsible when legislation they propose does not become law???

Just my $.02 on the highlighted items above:

1. The failure of this TA (by such a large margin) should actually help the profession and put the nail in the post BK era coffin.

2. The leadership will be held accountable. They will be gone soon.

I seem to recall someone posting that C2012 cost about 750K. I would guess this one would be higher if the above number is correct.

And yes...it is important. This TA never should have gotten to a vote so in effect, this rushed POS and attendant sales job by DALPA cost us a big chunk of dues money .

I believe it was around $1,750,000 including flight pay loss and all that fancy media that was circulated. They spared no expense. What a shameful waist...the whole thing top to bottom.

Bar just deleted his post about how much total money we have lost out on in one day. His comment reminded me of the 300 attorneys with 5 years experience stating that they had fifteen hundred years of combined experience.

Go home Bar. Slurp up some more DALPA Koolaid. Your credibility is shot. Sell your crazy somewhere else. We're all full up here.

To those who still have been unable to buy a clue... it wasn't about the money. That said, more money will be needed to get TA2015 to pass.

District Attorneys have to constantly table cases that they feel they can't win. It's a judgement call. They can't just take every case to court under the premise that it's the "cost of doing business." Like the judicial system, we also have limited resources. Whoever made the decision to TA this must have been aware of the potential financial losses involved. That person made what appears to be an obvious and substantial mistake, and as a financial contributor to this organization I have the right to know who made this decision and how extensive the damages were. I have not suggested that this person/persons pull money out of their own pocket as recompense. Clearly, the cost of this mistake will be shared among us equally.
