I think you are still confused on a line item veto. If we had that option, we could veto the Scope concession, Sick Leave concession, OE trip pulls and profit sharing reduction while leaving the pay rates, vacation and per diem in tact. With line item veto we could pass the TA and veto the concessionary parts.

I get what you're saying though. Sorry, but I believe it when the dALPA guys say that pay pay pay was at the top of the list in the survey. (Standing by for incoming) and that many of the other things were not as strongly advocated. They had to make choices. This is not a pro TA missive either. What concerns me that going forward is that NOTHING is negotiable in the minds of many. Contrary to what His Royal Highness Carl says, compromise and concession are one in the same on these boards.

I know I am arguing semantics.
All I was trying to say is that one cannot look at just one item in the deal and talk about it without considering the whole deal.

I'm sure pay was at the top of the survey by a wide margin. That doesn't mean we wanted give up so much of the other stuff. I don't know why the union won't release the survey results...I mean, come on, I'm sure the company knows pay and more time off are at the top of the list anyway.

Clearly this pilot group is now fully eyes open, and won't be voting in a contract that's not significantly higher in value than the failed TA, whether that be the same pay with less concessions or measurably higher pay in exchange for some of the concessions. So, given that retro pay to 07/01/2015 is likely off the table now, I think we're talking 15 / 3 / 3 minimum, and that's only if almost all of the most onerous concessionary areas are neutralized.

Pressure is building, and someone is going to have to blink. For once, I think the advantage of patience is finally on our side. If we hold strong, we'll get what we want as demographic factors continue to strain the company's resources, and, barring a significant external catastrophe, it will have a higher total value than the failed TA.

Also, you need to stop mis-using the term "line item veto" when what you really mean is "litmus test."

The Reps said in C2012 they got a break out of how each based voted. Did they do this already for C2015?

No. My source indicated the excuse from DALPA was that the vendor did not set up the vote to capture that data.

Pure hogwash, IMO

The only scientifically valid conclusion to draw is that each base was 65/35 NO.
