Default Recall council 44

Hello Fellow members
It is time we make a hard decision and recall our leadership. I value their accessibility and dedication to us but I and many others feel it is time for a change nothing personal.
If you support recall of our council and would like your vote counted please e-mail [email protected], or check out the FB group RECALL Council 44.
If you have any questions you can PM me and I will be happy to answer them. I am compiling a list of pilots who are supportive of recall so when and if a meeting is called we can be ready.
My thought is to use the list to match up people who will attend the meeting with proxies. And if you cannot attend and need help finding a proxy we can match you up.
Thanks for staying engaged.

Feeling threatened?

It's time for change. Sorry if this means an end to their political career. They chose politics over their constituents.

Enjoy flying the line fellas!

I have been asked to stick/combine/modify threads by both Pro/Con TA folks. I have been able to comply with all requests so far since they have all been reasonable.

Since you are accusing us of being biased I must apologize because I obviously missed your request - unless you never made one and just want to vent.

In the interest of full disclosure I have been 100% against the TA from day one. The fact that Pilots who were against the TA complained that I was deleting/moving anti-TA posts leads me to believe that I have been able to remain balanced as a moderator.

Additionally I will add that as a moderator I try to remain neutral but when I post I have and will continue to post as an individual.

Finally - You will notice that there is another recall thread which has not been "stuck" because no none has requested us to "stick" it, but who knows, maybe your post will spur someone to ask us to stick that post also

Default Item 1. Special Local Council 44 Meeting:

Item 1. Special Local Council 44 Meeting:

A special local council meeting will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015 with the agenda items listed as the recall of the four representatives of Council 44. Three council 44 pilots submitted a request to add the agenda items to the next regularly scheduled council meeting, a request which is in keeping with ALPA Constitution and Bylaws.

While their request was to add the agenda items to the September 28th meeting, which has a set agenda for the nominations of new Council 44 representatives for the next regular term, a special meeting is being called to deal with this request separately and in a timelier manner.

Our September 28th nomination meeting is important to the pilots of our council. That meeting will determine the nominees for the positions of Council 44 representatives for the next three year term. It will be followed by an election ballot that will run in October, and be certified on November 10th. We do not feel it is in the best interests of our pilots or the candidates to deal with both orders of business at the same meeting.

Handling the request for a recall at a meeting early in September, should the resolutions pass at the meeting, will allow for a September ballot that would conclude prior to the ballot for new representatives and keep those two council issues separate. That ballot would be certified in October. While ALPA Constitution and Bylaws would not require adding the agenda items until the next regularly scheduled meeting, having the meeting earlier than requested accommodates our pilots’ request and serves the pilots of Council 44 more appropriately. September 4th is the earliest date that we could schedule following the Special MEC meeting and still allow pilots the opportunity to bid around it.

An official meeting notice will be emailed tomorrow. You can expect more specific communication regarding the recall process shortly, including the use of proxies.

Scoop, thanks for your work.

Can you combine this thread with the just published C44 Special Meeting notice, or add that notice here, and add a link for printing up a proxy form?

Any C44 guys who can't get off Sept. 4 to be at the meeting should get a proxy printed, notify the email at the top of this thread, and he'll get you an address to send it to, to be taken to the meeting.
