True cost of the sales job

According to chit chat:

It wasn't $750,000.

It was $1.48 million.

That isn't according to Chit Chat, that is straight from the ALPA update of the MEC meeting in SLC.

Can you believe that? That is a cost of about $1,200 per pilot to "inform" us about the TA. You would think DALPA could eventually not totally dork something up, but they just keep on doing it. We need to demand a break down of what exactly that $1.48 million was used for.

They could sure stop printing and stuffing crap in my file at work. I got all that junk 3 weeks after the PDF emails so it went straight from my file to the garbage can that was filled up with all the other ALPA stuff from all the other pilots.

I'm staring to think that DPA couldn't screw stuff up this bad if they were trying to screw stuff up.

No, I can't. Has DAL furloughed a ton of pilots? Unless you are using FA math, the cost per pilot is under 1/5th of what you calculated.

How ironic. Accuse someone of FA math, then jack it up yourself. $1,480,000 divided by 12,500 is about $120 dollars per pilot ($118.4) which would actually be a tenth of the originally quoted $1,200 per pilot. 1/10th. A factor of ten.

Although we had a math error, let's keep our focus on the $1.48M number. That is yuge. Actually any number larger than zero is too big to have been used to sell that turd. I can't wait to see the line item breakout here.

Focus.

It's probably 90% FPL.

Possibly. Just heard that the union reimburses the Co for the FPL and includes something like a 35% override for expenses or something. Looks like we are helping the Co's profitability by taking as much FPL as possible. So the union lost over 1.4M during the sales job, but maybe we will all see an extra nickel in profit sharing. #winning
