Poll: Who wanted a TA more?

Alright, everyone who keeps saying it's going to take a long time to get a TA really seems to be saying, imho, that the company was not desperate to make a deal. Therefore, we were lucky to have gotten any deal this early and we've really screwed ourselves by voting no.

I assumed/assume the company was desperate to make a deal and will continue to be desperate.

So which is it? Were we lucky to get a deal early because we have no leverage or was management desperate to get a deal early because the pilots have more leverage?

Or, curveball, was the union the one who wanted the deal done early?

Just curious on your thoughts, because frankly, you Delta pilots are awesome and I really care what you think and feel.

I really think they wanted to cut the PS company wide.

IMO, the company is the one who want's the deal to:

1.) Solve staffing issues
2.) Get more mid seniority pilots to bid captain.
3.) Avoid huge profit sharing checks going out to employees in the future.

But, even with that said, can I vote twice? :D

Trick question.

C44 reps are the company's pilot expectation dampers.

You can only vote once, I tried twice, didn't work.

But we will add c44 and DAL together as one at the end.

For as long as I can remember, the theory of a pilot strike at DAL has been that 44 would scab you to death. Is it the water?

ATL used to be the Mother Country, but fleet shuffles, base closures, and the jumpseat caused it to become swollen with commuters from the "colonies". We were like undocumented aliens who spoke a different language and ate different food. Now hordes of Northmen have invaded, and 44 may have changed forever. :p

I took a break during the TA debate.

1) I agree. How or do we help and/or how much $ do we charge? If we don't help why would they give us $ for this issue? This is a joint problem: if they can't train/staff and plan accordingly it slows progression. That helps us? How?
2) I don't think they care who occupies the NB capt seats. If a senior F/O goes to a NB Capt seat they are replaced by a more junior F/O who plays (maximizes) whatever rules are available. Just like the person replaced.
3) I agree. But, we've apparently voted to not monetize PS. So, do they offer a higher premium? or... forget about it.

In the end I don't think either side was desperate. JMO, OFG

1. Staffing issue is solved. 717 deliveries end in December, no E-190's so hiring drops to about 40 per month. IOE trip drops will be cut by 60-70% just on that alone.
2. Why would they care?
3. They are going to give the other employees big raises soon and cut their profit sharing, so only 12,000 employees get huge profit sharing checks. Our contract does not cover the other employees.

What other leverage do you have?

We already know Bartels tried to blame Anderson for the failed TA and Anderson stuck it right back in his face. Anderson is done with this MEC until the witch hunts/lunacy ends; that alone gets you well into 2016. He told the MEC to strap in for the long haul which is what set Bartels to getting red faced. He needs the money to pay off that expensive house in San Diego. Woops.
