The mission for it evidently was stated in some Delta presser during the TA about what the 190s were for and right now it was supposed to be west coast and some Mexico and Latin America destinations from up north on the left coast. I don't know a thing about AC routes but it looks like they routinely use them for 1600-2100 mile legs.

Get this, the talk was also to put the 190 training department in lax but that was still a maybe that some had balked at internally. Everyone I know that has involvement or good knowledge of the plans has said the 190 would replace the 717 on the west coast and the 717s would return to NYC and east coast. Makes sense if you need better range out there but not necessarily the capacity of the current good range mainline jets while you need capacity on the east coast but not necessity range.
