Survey Equals Leverage

Do you at least acknowledge the fact that, at the local level, everything you used to know is [about to be] about as gone as it can be, and regardless of the long-term, that between now and a second TA, ALPA isn't going anywhere in that particular timeframe?

While I agree that ALPA National is a disgraceful money eating blob that just feeds itself, it is a irrefutable fact that Delta ALPA effective March 1st is a different union than we have ever seen.
In my opinion, the best MEC in ALPA history. There are now only 3 reps left who work for management. This incredible group of leaders is perfect for these time of unimaginable record profits.
Gone are the days of concessions during record profits. Gone are the days of gutting our contract and quality of life one paragraph at a time.

I understand the new situation and the sequence of events but I have been exposed to this totalitarian regime for so long that I have a hard time believing it can ever change its stripes. I just believe it's so broke that it can't be repaired and it's going to take ANOTHER drubbing to affect real change. I voted the straight winning ticket so I'm on board with the program. I hope the process at the end result proves me wrong. In 25 years I've been right way many more times than I've been wrong. I still believe ALPA is like congress and it's going to take flaming pitchforks to run it out of town.

If you want change, you need to start by taking personal responsibility. Do the survey. Make liberal use of the comments section. When you have finished, write to your reps and let them know where you found deficiencies in the survey.
Be a part of the solution. Not an anonymous complainer.

I do not agree. Engagement is the only path to change. Do the survey, express your wishes. Have a current DPA card. If the path follows what we all hope given the changes afoot, we will probably remain with ALPA, despite our misgivings about the functions at national level. One more error half the magnitude of TA1, and I see DPA in the coming on board. Ignoring the survey and keeping quiet is only a vote for more of the recent past. It's either a new-blood/attitude DALPA or DPA representing the actual will of our pilots. Nothing else is acceptable.
