Default Delta Airlines: Medical Records

Wondering if some new Delta hires can shed some light on this: does Delta ask that you release your full FAA medical records to them during the hiring process, or are they simply satisfied with the fact that you hold an unrestricted first class medical?

As a relatively recent hire, I don't recall any sort of overly invasive look into any medical records, FAA or otherwise. They do ask a lot of questions in the interview regarding sick calls/being unfit for duty but that was about it. Oh, and you sign a thing allowing your previous employer to release your attendance records but no idea what, if anything, comes of that.

If you sign a document releasing your records, then the FAA will release your entire medical records file. Everything will be available to the airline since you authorized it. Your cedit report will also be available to them should you authorize that too.

In short, it's best to disclose and let them decide than to get a CJO rescinded because they found out that you tried to deceive them.

Delta does not do anything like that. If you're successful on day 2, you have to do the pee test. That's done at a place that requires a car in ATL or you can do it at an approved facility within 48 hours (unless the time frame has changed?) closer to home.

I understand that there is a way to have your FAA records released to a third party. I'm wondering if Delta, or other majors, require that you do so. Or, are they satisfied with the fact that you hold and unrestricted 1st class medical and pass the drug test.
