Disappointed in Mgmt Lies/Half Truths
So Management puts out their response to our proposal with a slick bar graph showing our total yearly compensation (the average pilot at Delta) and makes it available for all to see on DeltaNet
Only problem - It is a lie
Now lets correct that lie and make our reserve guarantee 85hrs. After all their numbers are based on 85hrs per month

It's part of the internal PR campaign to the rest of the DAL employees: "Look how greedy the pilots are, they earn $200k+ and want even more". I don't see them posting the top 10 management salaries for comparison. Get used to it, the company plays dirty while trying to maintain the public face of the good guy.

True, but the path they are taking has its own set of risks.
When the "help" sees that we make many times their pay, they might just think that's what a union does for you and be inclined to organize.
DALPA could easily "out" the senior leaders with just a minimal amount of effort. A billboard close to the parking lot that says that RA makes about $55,000 a day (last number I saw was he made 20M/yr) could have a chilling effect and maybe stop this public airing of our private issues...

Not to mention, the data includes some statistical outliers on the very high side. Yes, there are a number of people getting paid 200 hrs/month due to training and staffing issues. But as we all know, that is not the norm. The devil is always in the details.

Just telling the FAs unionizing would automatically get their PS back would push there drive over the top.
As the MD11 demonstrated, no truth required. It wouldn't take much to spite management if they want to demon Gog us in front of the other employees.

I think there are problems with the companies response but not what you mention above. The average DAL Pilot does receive around 85 hours a month in credit (pay) - not block hours.
This total includes premium pay, vacation pay etc and is higher than our monthly block hour average.
I voted No on the TA and am prepared to wait as long as it take to get a good deal but we must ensure that our arguments are correct in order to maximize our leverage.

I've been here 20+ years….I will be very happy when I start making what that graph indicates is "average pilot compensation". Both in '14, and again in '15, I flew quite a few (Int'l F/O) green slips, and I am nowhere near where the graph indicates as being "average pay". IMHO, yes, the graph is pretty skewed.

You miss the point. Nobody but a few people on this board get into those details. The company posted this giant graphic which 99.99% of all noncon employees will view and think to themselves "pilots all make $200k+ and are still complaining". The truth and details are not important, the perception that we are a greedy work group is their aim.

The noncons did not seem too worried about our situation when they gloated about their 14.5% "raise."
Screw 'em. If they can't take care of themselves, I'm not wasting any effort or short changing our prospects because of them.
