DPMA and loss of license insurance

Hey guys,

I currently have DPMA and just finished my probationary year so I got a letter from ALPA asking money for loss of license insurance, accident, critical illness, term life etc.

Question is do any of you use this Alpa insurance? Thought loss of license may come in handy but wasn't sure what that would cover that DPMA doesn't already. Thoughts???

Another way ALPA makes money off of us. If you are young it is a good idea that will give you money on top of DPMA. I did the lump sum thing, jst in case I lost my license I could go back to school and do something else stopped it around age 45, wish I saved it and invested it. lots of restrictions and after paying into it for so many years the payout starts to shrink when you hit a certain age.
If you do it, shop around, ALPA may not be the best product out there.

It's just additional money on top of what DPMA pays or in some cases kicks in after DPMA. We have one of the best disability systems in the industry fully company funded. Combined with DPMA I never felt the need for more insurance. It's up to you.

Give Harvey Watt a call, they are a bit cheaper than ALPA. It's worth it if you are under 45, after that premiums go way up.
