June schedule
So, since I'm very low on the list for the ER, I accept the inevitable crappy reserve schedule. Wondering if you all have any ideas for my May/June situation;
- I have a trip May 22-25 2 days off then trip 28-31 1 day off then the June bid period begins. June 2 starts an 8 day stretch of reserve. I'm a commuter, so basically, it sucks. I'll pretty much be gone for 3 weeks. There is open time (line holder in May) on June 1 that spills into the June bid period (4 day trip). Would picking that up do me any good? It seems like it would just eliminate a few days of reserve at the beginning of June for me, BFD. - I have a specific day I need off in June (26th). There are about 8 of us on reserve that day. Is there any way to request a shifting of reserve days and not have to use a personal drop? Could I ask to drop that day of reserve and pick up another day? Thanks for any help! |
Try moving an x day to that day in the pcs menu

In icrew go to PCS, Leave Requests, Move Reserve Off Days.
Good Luck! Denny |
Bid down to something you would have more seniority on

That's a fact. Still seat locked, I'm willing to give it another year to see how that happens. I'm hoping once all of the people hired in the last year to year and a half get where they want to go and then stop bidding to 7ER/B by next summer so people can come in underneath me. Who knows.

Point #2 - What he said: "In icrew go to PCS, Leave Requests, Move Reserve Off Days. Good Luck! Denny" But I'll add ... put it in now, so you roll on the first cycle. No guarantees, but I got last Christmas off while guys thousands senior to me either fly a bid rotation, got called out, or suffered the uncertainty of doing so. Early bird gets the worm. Did you say where you are based? Most categories seem to have block go further down the list in summer months, but the higher ALV on the 7ER can hose you if you happen to be in a base that has more robust staffing. I haven't looked at the numbers, but I assume they have reinforced NYC to avoid a repeat of last summer. Hopefully July will get you better results. |
