Default E190's to Republic

You heard it here first...

Delta deals the E190's to Republic in exchange for their C-Series delivery slots (on top of what's already been ordered.)
They are just waiting for the pilots to give in on RJ scope in the current negotiations.

Ask Ed said today- "We are in the process of selling the 190's," and "The E190's will not be flying mainline."

His use of the word "MAINLINE" is the trigger.

Interesting prediction. You're reading a lot between the lines.

Sweet. We will kick them out. Oh wait, didn't they get an exemption?

I heard that Ed said if we took delivery of the 190s that they were to be flown to the desert, stripped of parts and they'd be smashed.

On that note, Embraer is suing Delta.

Wait - I thought Boeing actually owned the E190s they received in a partial trade for 737-8Max airplane orders at Air Canada???? Doesn't Boeing own those used airplanes?

Like a complete meltdown of the MEC in negotiations and the pilot group losing its mind for an extended period of 'memory rat' while simultaneously ramping up a large fleet of 190 sized jets.

If the E190s were going to fly for a DCI carrier wouldn't it make sense for DL to retain ownership so they can whipsaw the regionals against each other for the lowest 190 rates? Just thinking like an evil CEO for a minute.

Good point. But we're only talking 19 aircraft here. AND- those aircraft are in a 2-class configuration. Higher-ups have been quoted at saying that it is difficult to find a 190 in a 2 class config. Most are built as single class.

Republic already has the 190 on their certificate. None of the other DCI's have that.
Sure, the 170/175 is common on the pilot side- but operationally is a different story.

My theory is based on how DAL is a major stakeholder in the bankruptcy of Republic. So, though they are "sold" to Republic, Delta is still a significant controller in what Republic is allowed to do.

I may even go as far as saying that eventually Republic would be wholly owned. MAY...not convinced yet... But wouldn't be surprised.

A "wholly owned" label would possibly even help in regards to scope carve-outs; Say 'X amount of 90-100 seat aircraft must be owned and operated by Delta airlines' but not necessarily by "mainline" pilots. Hmmmm...

I hope it doesn't.

Just fear what could happen during negotiations when it comes to give-and-takes.

'You let us fly these 190's through a different wholly owned, and we will transfer one Virgin Atlantic USA-U.K. flight back to Delta.'

Scary sheeittt.
