Both of those make it a NO vote for me. What asks will they have on sick next contract time? Also, we don't have a clue how they will screw us on VB. Once that camel gets its nose in the tent, it never goes away.

I personally like the way the company handles it's need for flexibility now.
The additional deadheading creates more pilot need and more opportunity.
For the pilot's that commute they get paid for the deadhead and positive space direct to the departure airport.
My question is there any real benefit to virtual basing (other than to management), even for someone who lives in the base during the time it's active?
Why give up the paid deadheads and positive space?

I've got some questions and concerns for those that know better:
Sick Leave
· Verification not required until the first sick call in a bid period after the pilot has used more than 100 sick leave hours in the previous 12 bid periods; a pilot who has used less than 100 sick leave hours in the preceding 12 bid periods will have no obligation to provide verification in the current bid period, other than under a good faith basis
So if we use 100 hours due to a broken bone, and then get a cold on hr 101, we now have to verify from that point on? Will the company pay for all of those verifications?
· Eliminates voluntary verification
As of now if we have 100 hours and use 15, but verify those 15, we return to our 100 hours of unverified leave. But based on this it sounds like we can no longer get those 15 hours back even if we verify, correct? So now we're down to 85 no matter what?

Exactly: So underwhelming. Yet, as Casual Observer explains, it's a give on VB...a give on sick leave... give on ALV...give on new hire freeze.... give on 76 sweaters... give on Open Time pulls for OE...
And the gets? Drop a trip for a vacation day (yawn). Get a room for a training that starts before 9am (yellow 901am start time). A dime extra for per diem...some other minimal stuff here and there... yawn.
The pay will have to be large. The change to PS will have to be NONE. Vacation will have to be more thanb +15 mins/day.
Surprised I didn't see Split duty periods in there just as much as I expected to see hotels for new hires. I've got friends who have Delta at the bottom of their list... don't see that changing with this unless the Pay is stupendous. (It won't be)

We'll see how much the company opens up their pocket book. Clearly less onerous gives in what has been put out so far with some definite gets. The company is on very thin ice on this going nuclear.
I'm very thankful for such a transparent NC/MEC... what a change from the previous smartest men in the room!
