Reset to DOH and keep 50% of unused sick

Only thing that should change and it will solve the company's perceived problems and also help curb people flying sick that a full bank system may lead to.

50% to a VEBA/health/cash account to be used upon retirement/separation.

Well, it's TA'd now. So that ship has sailed.

The only way we can change it now is if the MEC or pilots vote down the final TA, and we start over again.

Even a bank is going to be viewed best case as highly suspicious and worst case as a flat out scam. The last time a large percentage of our pilots had a bank it was eviscerated, sometimes a thousand or more hours per pilot, in exchange for DPMA premiums (and then the resulting changes to the actuarials caused an increase in DPMA premiums for everyone else...wait what?). Its going to be a very tough sell for them to say "ok, here's another bank and THIS TIME we totally promise not to raid it once you've built it up. Even POSTA1.0 contained a weak bank provision, whereby you only got half of half of a small maximum amount.

Any bank proposal would have to be a dedicated fund in our own name. Otherwise it is highly at risk during the next downturn. And there will be a next downturn.

In any case, DPMA is none of the company's business and we should forbid them from even mentioning it. It is not their concern.

Just think....a company held sick bank could afford us another future 'sacrifice' opportunity to save delta!

Sick Bank... YGBSM. They stole that outside of bankruptcy once already. The account is in my name, 100% vested day one or it doesn't exist.

Curious about sick bank history at Delta. Could someone post some more info about it?
I had been in favor of it...

You guys are missing the point. The company has the sick leave they wanted. Not just the change in 2012 but the whole thing. Why do you guys think the company does not want the reset tied to anniversary month?

Because the reset in May works very well to reduce sick leave in the summer when they want maximum productivity.

May sick leave reset.
30 day summer months.
Expanding the ALV.

What do they all have in common? They all require more flying in the summer months.

Did I gather somewhere that we also used to have a more normalized distribution of vacation weeks available throughout the calendar year, and now our summer allocation is worse? Is that something spelled out in the PWA?
