They don't hand it to you, there is an offering to the class of positions in various domiciles and AC types, and each person in class picks from that list in seniority order. If the drop doesn't have what you want or it's taken by the time it gets to your pick, tough beans.

Haha! This job is always a mixed bag....
in defense of the 88, its quite amazing a low bp fan engine airframe is still operating AND making money in 2018. They have made a bundle for delta over the last 25+ years.
That said....im happy to have never had that inside view of the sim.

Reminds me of a TWA story. When they got their first Constellation (4 piston engines, but one of the first pressurized cabins), the owner of TWA Howard Hughes and the CEO Jack Fry, both Cracker Jack Pilots, flew to Dayton, Ohio. They got Orville Wright aboard, in his 70s at the time. Checked him out and let him take off, fly around for half an hour, and land. Orville had tears in his eyes as he got off a ‘modern’ plane.
