For someone that lives on the Jersey side of the river, how would it look for a new hire?

Speaking for the 737, about 25% of the bid package are EWR trips...most people try to avoid EWR so if you ask for EWR trips, you could stiff arm LGA and JFK pretty easily.

Bid the 220. Nobody wants the ewr trips. And we almost never have more than 3 legs per day with it usually being 2. No red-eyes. Id say most of my trips are commutable on one side.

I was on reserve for 1 month.

Red eyes are coming. FAI is already one and we’re gonna see those “moonlight” flights. 3am JFK arrival from SLC. 2am arrival to ATL from SLC. Who knows what else is coming

Is the 220 QOL that much better than the 73 to justify the pay difference?

Pay is the same for the first year......

As far as QOL goes, it depends on what you’re after. If you want your weekends/holidays/summer vacay, then those things will come faster on the Canabus/717. If you just want decent trips and are planning on staying in ‘junior’ bases(NYC, LAX, and maybe DTW), then the 320/73N will probably be a better bet.

I was on the 73 and took a voluntary displacement to the Canabus because I need my weekends/holidays etc and progress was just not happening on the 73 because people kept bidding in on top of me.

Other than spending some quality time in FAI, the plan has worked for me....

Ssshhhhhhhhhh............. Seniority is like Norte Dame - Over rated!!!

Happiness is directly proportional to hourly pay rates. You don’t need weekends or summers or holidays off just higher pay rates.

Did you hear that senior guys?!?!

Given that it is a new fleet type, how do you like flying the Canabus so far compared to flying the 73? Easy/fun to fly?
