Isn’t the difference because bodies were left behind whereas now they won’t be?

Airbus is touting the 19 more seats by changing the exits and going to a 28 inch seat pitch. If you have never flown in a 28” seat pitch let me assure you that it’s a miserable experience. The 20% fuel burn improvement is per seat with the 19 additional seats the new exits make legal. With the same seating we currently use the fuel burn improvement from the CEO to the NEO is substantially less.

Are we actually going to a 28" seat pitch or is this because people are discussing Airbus numbers?

I would be shocked if we went to a 28” seat pitch. I would think the company would want to keep the seating the same as the CEO for commonality. That may not be possible with the reconfigured emergency exits.

The number I heard was 198 seats with the over wing exits. That was just a line rumor though, so who knows how accurate it is.

Can you double check the neo numbers? They don't add up correctly.
