Yes, Delta emails the available bids for you to rank order about a month out from class. About a week out, they email what you have been awarded.

There were lots of unfilled spots from other bases from last ae like Atl and Dtw. I understand the need for constant Nyc. What has been the companies strategy in the past, just keep padding nyc and let them bid over to unfilled spots on the next ae or will they put new hires into atl and Dtw

Interesting. I think I prefer the transparency of the old process. Knowing the available options early would be nice but knowing exactly where you stand when the picks are made would be somewhat preferable, I should think.

Probably depends on the number of slots they have left as we approach the next AE which will probably be either end of this month or beginning of next since that resets the availability.

Realistically, it depends on which bases are worse off for staffing, if NYC starts to approach parity they may start offering other positions.

LOL I was thinking the same thing when I saw this. 1340 for the year is 25 new hires PER WEEK. Im thinking they are not going to be taking such a big break from summer time training anymore.

I listened to the discussion on Deltanet and they said they plan on hiring 125 a month for Jan ~ May then pick up again in the fall. Looks like they are behind unless it’s a class a week.

From what I understand, class of roughly 30 every week will get the approx 125/month goal, which will go for 5 months in order to get 625 noobs onboard for summer ops.

The other 700’ish will be spread out Jun-Dec, which is right around 100/month.

Huh? Why would what others are picking impact your decision?

If you know that you have a choice to be the first of 10 on the 717 or last slot on the 73N may impact your decision because that’s a swing of being 9 people senior in one category or junior in another for the next two years.

With the current movement and hiring planned over the next few years it’s small fry, but if the music stopped it could be the difference of commuting to reserve or a line over two years.
