New MEC Officer Elections In November

I have to tip my hat to management, it's quite machiavellian. They have convinced some pilots that we should buy the retirement of the 50 seaters when they are going to do it anyway. Kudos.

I do. The faster they leave, the faster the 76s take over their flying, and the faster more mainline flying takes over 76 seat flying.

Yeah we're all really stupid and you and your posse are really smart. Riiight. You, Jerry and Co. seem to know everything.

No chance we'd have "a line out the door" to fly right seat of an RJ. what would it pay, 90 bucks an hour?
And you make quite a leap with my "logic" I make judgments on each individual part of a potential deal. this one seems reasonable to me if it "unlocks" status quo PS or JV, not to mention full retro. You're just dying to say NO, aren't you?

And that's using worst case existing CRJ-900/E190 rates (yeah that's right, and we almost got those). If they blended it with the E195 rate we'd top out at $211 left and $144 right. Even second year in that case would be $184 and $99.
It would still be the junior airplane, but would likely see very quick upgrades and rapid extreme seniority in the right seat for those who chose to stay.
If that wasn't enough, they'd have to raise rates further with a mid contract increase. Or band it with the 717. I'd be happy to work with them on that.
No more outsourced DC-9 sized "RJs" period.

First year pay would be the same regardless and second year would pay $95 with an 18% increase, which is about a dollar difference between that and our current 717 second year rate. It would top out around $122 right and $180 in 3 years. That's no more a "C Scale" between that and our current smallest fleet rates than it would be calling 717/88/320/737 rates a C Scale compared to a 777.

I've been stuck commuting on 50 seaters a lot lately. They absolutely suck and are getting worse all the time. They need to go to the metal shredder asap.
